About Us

I have been involved with Salukis since 2003 when my parents purchased my first Saluki, Skye, bred by Lorraine Trenholm. Skye went on to become BIF FC Rataki Untha Trinjen SC RN CGC FCh. She was my introduction to lure coursing and the AKC show ring through my 4-H program, and she set the foundation for my lifelong passion for the breed.

My kennel name, formerly “Skye Salukis,” has evolved to “Desertskye Salukis,” a tribute to both my first Saluki, Skye, and my foundation dog, Hela. Hela, whose registered name is Tamarisk Cemal Desert Cerenade, is a 3rd-generation Desert Bred descendant. She was gifted to me by my dear friend and mentor, Joanne Klova of Tamarisk Salukis, with whom I co-own her. Hela has been an extraordinary family member, competitor, and mother.

I co-bred my first litter with Tamarisk Salukis in 2016 and my second with Kismet Salukis in 2018, both litters are from Hela.

I am an active member of the Saluki Club of America, the American Saluki Association, the Saluki Association of New England. In 2019, I was honored to receive the AKC Sportsman of the Year award from the Saluki Club of America.

All of my dogs are cherished members of the family and live in my home. They compete in the AKC show ring and in lure coursing, and I occasionally participate in obedience and rally events. In 2025, I began competing in agility as well. As a breeder, my vision is to preserve the Saluki’s original look while honoring its ancient history. To me, the Saluki is a living piece of historic art.
